Iodide gadolinium in magnetic materials, medical imaging, and catalyst, and other fields have a wide range of applications. It can be used for the preparation of magnetic materials, such as gadolinium ferrite and gadolinium cobalt oxide, used in the manufacture of permanent magnet and sensors. In medical imaging, can be used for the preparation of iodide gadolinium contrast agents, to provide contrast in MRI scans. In addition, iodide gadolinium also can be used as a catalyst, promote chemical reaction.
